The 5th edition of the Qwartz Awards begins. The jury members will begin soon the blind listening of the selected works. The composition of the jury will be known in September 2008.

As you already know, 2000 people from 11 different countries went on last April the 4th in the Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione in Paris. For the first time, we have organized an International Forum dedicated to the Electronic Music and Associated Arts.

The 5the edition of the Qwartz will occur on the 2^nd, 3^rd end 4^th of April 2009. The Ceremony will take place at the Cirque d'Hiver – Bouglione on Friday, the 3^rd of April. We will organize again an International Forum dedicated to the Electronic Music and Associated Arts during two days. 62 stands can be present on the Forum. On the 3^rd of April, the forum will be exclusively dedicated to the professionals and it will be open to the public on Saturday the 4^th.

Besides, financial contributions have created a turning point for the Qwartz Electronic Music Awards as they amounted  40 000€. The contributions given by the ADAMI, the SPEDIDAM (two French companies for the rights of artists, musicians, dancers and actors), RADIO FRANCE and INA GRM are significant enough to enable the achievement or the execution of a project.

For this 5th edition, we will also try to offer a financial contribution for the Qwartz  Video.

Moreover, we want to create a Qwartz Media  and a Relevant Initiatives Qwartz.

The nominees will either play during the Qwartz event or be invited to get a stand for free on the International Forum dedicated to the Electronic Music and Associated Arts.

Music nominations: the members of the new selection committee will listen "blind" to the works.

ONLY ONE UNIT TO SEND FOR EACH ALBUM REGISTERED

Only one unit to send for each album registered. A CDR with masterised files for net labels.

The works participating to this edition must have been released on a commercial digital or analogical support or proposed through a net label between January the 1st 2007 and July the 15th 2008. The works must never have been presented before to the Qwartz Music Awards.

No promotional copy will be accepted for the selection.

Artwork and packaging nomination: only works included in the presented albums will be selected.

Video and animation nomination: send the works in MPEG or QUICKTIME format – maximum definition - on DVD-R in data. No DV PAL format is authorized.

CLOSING DATE FOR THE INSCRIPTIONS : JULY THE 15th 2008

CLOSING DATE FOR THE WORKS’ RECEPTION: JULY THE 25th 2008

The Regulation must be signed. The registration's modalities are as follows: each participant has to send en e-mail to the Qwartz Organizators at this adresse : registration5[@]qwartz.org. This e-mail contains the following informations : first and last names of the participant, the presented work's name and his author's name.

The works under Creative Commons’ licence are of course eligible.
(Such works have already been awarded since Qwartz’s first edition.)

A – The labels who wish to have a stand during the next Qwartz ceremony must let us know no later than December 1st 2008.
B- The labels who wish to promote their artists on Qwartz’s website may be allowed to post their “label news “. This section is equipped with a dedicated RSS syndication feed, allowing each journalist and listener to be posted in real time, without waiting for the newsletter.
